Household Moving
Whether you are moving across town or across the country, we can provide professional services to move your furniture, as well as packing, and specialized crating when needed. Our crews are skilled, experienced, and courteous. No two customers have the same pieces to transport. We expertly load your everyday furniture, antiques, appliances, garage equipment, and car if you don’t want to drive it. Packing is done with proper materials to protect the most delicate china to the newest flat panel TV’s.
ESTIMATING
We want to start with an in-home estimate which will benefit both of us. You can plan your finances, and we will know how much work is involved. If you have an item that requires special attention, we will both know in advance.
COMMUNICATION
Each step of the way, we encourage communication. Let us know what you are moving. If you need to make changes from the original estimate, let us know as soon as you do. What dates do you need for packing, loading, and delivery? Do you have times of the day that we need to work around? Don’t worry that you are a pest. We want to help you with a smooth transition. We have literature and information that will help you organize the process.
PACKING
Many customers refer to “packing” as loading the truck. Our definition is the placing of items into cartons that require extra protection for moving. We have wrapping materials, tape, and various sizes of cartons. We can pack boxes for you, or do part, or you can pack yourself. Our estimator can let you know the pricing for each option; then you decide how much you need us to do. It is best to have all of your packing before the truck comes to load.
LOADING THE TRUCK
On your interstate move, before we begin loading, the driver will do a walk through to see what are is best to begin. If you are moving out of state, he will prepare an inventory of what will be going on the truck. (If you are moving locally, this is not a requirement.) He will protect floors, railings, and door jams. Furniture is wrapped in heavy moving pads to prevent scratches. Sofas and overstuffed furniture is stretch wrapped for additional protection prior to having them wrapped in pads. Loading the truck is like putting a puzzle together. It requires skill to put the puzzle together.
TRANSPORT
We follow The Department of Transportation’s for hours of service. Depending on the distance to your new home, you may arrive before your driver. If you are moving locally, normally the driver will follow you to your new home. If you are moving a long distance, the driver will go over his plans, and communicate with you along the way. UNLOADING
The driver will do a walk-through of your new home and protect the walls, floors, and door jams. He will ask that you check off your furniture as it comes off the truck; and let him and his helpers know where you want the pieces placed. Before the driver leaves, make sure you have everything. If you find something damaged after the driver leaves, please call our office so that we can work with you to resolve the problem.
PAYMENT
We accept: Cashier’s Checks, Credit Cards, and Cash. Deposits are not required, but payment must be made prior to unloading the truck. If your company will be paying for your move, we can make arrangements to bill them upon completion of the move with proper authorization.
